IMDA Receives a complaint about an ‘Independent Dealer’

IMDA Receives a complaint about an ‘Independent Dealer’, How would you approach this?

The Chairman, Umesh Samani received a call today from a very angry and disgruntled ‘potential buyer’ of a BMW M2, who was not happy with the independent dealers’ ‘attitude’!

The caller went to say he’d been searching for a car for some months and was narrowing it down, he had a fantastic experience with a franchise dealer who had collected him from the train station, let him test drive the car, very helpful salesman overall bur the car wasn’t ticking all the boxes as he’d not quite what exact car he wanted.

He spotted his ‘idea’ car at the independent dealer and requested the test drive, the dealer said we can arrange this, however we need £2000 deposit to test drive the car and if you don’t like it/buy it after the test drive we’ll refund you the £2000 back!

Obviously not happy being told this, he was about to hit Google reviews with 1* and state the dealer’s attitude and how unprofessional they were, he felt! He went to Google and found the IMDA and wanted to know what the association had to say about it.

So before we give you the chairman’s conversation, what do you think?
