Massive shout out to our man Gareth for helping with a very bizarre situation we found ourselves in with an M2 sold a few months back;
We registered the car online, as you do and carried on as normal. A week later, we receive a call from the man we bought the car from, saying he had received a new log book for his old car, with him as the new owner. WHAT?!!
This was a one owner car, registered to the new owner, but for some crazy reason, had ended up with a second keeper - the first owner - again?!
To add to the pressure, our customer had just paid 500.00+ for his years tax.
Not having a clue what to do, other than to register the car AGAIN, put another owner in the book and possibly loose over 500quids worth of tax in the process, we asked for help on here - Step into frame, our man Gareth…
Gareth made contact with the bods at DVLA and after a reasonably sensible three way email exchange, we had the second keeper error addressed, the correct details updated on the Vehicle record and the tax remained in place throughout the whole process!
The best bit? Our customer was none the wiser, and no awkward follow up calls to make about tax, additional owners or anything else. A huge sigh of relief!!
