The IMDA is receiving a lot of V5C errors recently that members need assistance with.

THE DVLA HAVE REMINDED MEMBERS

"where a dealer receives a V5C that they were not expecting, it should be returned to DVLA as soon as possible with a covering letter explaining that it was issued in error"

"If the dealer has received the V5C and subsequently used it to carry out a transaction, such as taxing the vehicle, they must unfortunately remain on the vehicle record"

"Once a V5C has been used to complete a transaction, we are unable to remove the dealer from the vehicle's keeper history"
