Not only can being an Independent prove to be a very lonely experience, it also seems as if your opinion is never being listened to. The IMDA have made this a thing of the past. As a group of Independents our voice has become loud and clear and we can assure you that our collective Voice will be heard and listened to more widely respected as our Association continues to grow.

When external influences challenge our business such as changes to the use of trade plates rule, fuel taxation and business rates – The IMDA will continue to work hard on the behalf of its members to lobby with government by joining fellow industry associations to give independent dealers ‘a voice at the table’

We will ensure that by working closely together with fellow Industry Associations & Influencers we will help influence industry changes and government legislation that affects the Motor Industry.

We will continue to obtain your views surrounding various issues that affect your business through Survey's. The results of which will enable us to conclude the opinion of the majority and take the necessary action towards lobbying.

We have restricted Sectors to a maximum of only 5 Suppliers per sector thus helping bring together the 5 Top Suppliers in one place and giving you a wide enough choice to choose from. We will continue to add Suppliers as the become Approved and notify you via the News Feed.

An impromptu meeting

An impromptu meeting with 25 dealers in a room at the Car Dealer CDX 17 at Silverstone. Among many items were discussed was the final push required to form an association. All 7 founder members being present at that very meeting

The IMDA finally launched

After many months of canvasing independent dealers to join the imda the association finally launched.

Our first supplier

CartoTrade.com Become our very first Supplier Partner and are still to this day. Aston Lark is appointed exclusive Motor Trade Insurance Partner. LawData are appointed Motor Trade Legal partners

Motor Trade Summit

The IMDA present for the first time at the Motor Trade summit in Birmingham to a packed audience – massive excitement in the room
